Landmarks

Written in 1979. Originally performed at the Chester Gateway Theatre.

Set during 1935-38 in a field, this play was based on interviews with farmers and villagers in rural Cheshire. It was written for five Actors and later adapted for radio.

Thinking about the play, Nick wrote: ‘Landmarks is an attempt to voice a few of the misgivings which might have been in peoples minds when horse met the tractor for the first and last time’.
