Never Say Rabbit in a Boat at the HFC
The Hall for Cornwall have announced that they will be holding a rehearsed reading of Nick's first full-length play, Never Say Rabbit in a Boat, on Tuesday 19th January 2010 at 7.30pm. Click here for more info.

Dumbstruck
Dumbstruck, Nick's fascinating radio documentary about life after his stroke, is now reproduced for the first time online at nickdarke.net with the kind permission of the BBC. You can listen to the whole half-hour programme in the Other Work section.

Darke Visions Resource Pack & Nick Darke Shop
Two exciting new additions to the site this week... First up is our brand new educational dance resource pack, developed specially for the Darke Visions Festival and available completely free of charge! Check it out and download your free copy from the Education section.

Second is our new Nick Darke Shop, where you'll be able to purchase DVDs, scores, scripts and other items relating to Nick's life and work. So far we've added exclusive downloads of Jim Carey's original scores to some of Nick's best-loved plays - but look out for more items in the coming weeks.

Kneehigh reading the King of Prussia
As part of Darke Visions this autumn, the original cast of Kneehigh's production of The King of Prussia are getting back together for a special live reading of the play on Fri 23rd and Sat 24th Oct at the Jubilee Hall in Mevagissey. Tickets can be booked directly through the Kneehigh site - but you'll need to get in there early, as places are limited!

Latest Darke Visions news
The Darke Visions Festival continues to grow in size and scope! We've added loads of new events to the Events Calendar - check out what's on near you and put the dates in your diary...

Look out this week for the premiere of Gonamena, a brand new community play by local writer Simon Parker, performing at the Sterts Theatre on various dates throughout June and July. Also premiering this week is the St Agnes' Players' production of Nick's environmental classic about the Camelford water disaster, The Man With Green Hair.

Darke Visions launched at St Merryn School
The exciting new festival of Darke Visions will be launching on 11th March 2009 with a special performance of Hell's Mouth by Cornwall Youth Theatre. The performance will take place at 7.30pm at St Merryn School in St Columb Minor, which Nick attended as a young boy.

Tickets are £7 adult, £6 concessions, £4 for students. For more information please visit www.cornwallyouththeatre.co.uk.

nickdarke.net launched
Finally - it's been a long time coming, but at long last we're hugely pleased to announce the launch of www.nickdarke.net, a brand new website dedicated to the life and work of Cornwall's very own playwright, Nicholas Temperley Watson Darke.

It's a work in progress, and we hope to keep expanding and developing the site over the coming months, so please keep checking back for all the latest news, or sign up to our mailing list to receive regular updates.
