Nick Darke Award 2012
Applications are now being invited for the 2012 Nick Darke Award, a £6,000 grant set up to celebrate the best new writing for stage, screen and radio with an environmental theme.

New production of Bud
The Tell Theatre Company are producing a new version of Bud as part of a double bill at the Waterloo East Theatre in London, from February 7th - 26th 2012.

The Big Sing 2011
Join in with this year's Big Sing at Watergate on June 21st 2011 from 7pm.
6 Choirs, St Newlyn East Brass Band, City of Lights artists’ installation, Cornwall Youth Dance company, fabulous food on the beach and after the concert a screening on a giant outdoor cinema of The Wrecking Season by Nick and Jane Darke.
All free but a collection will be taken.

Kneehigh reading the King of Prussia
As part of Darke Visions this autumn, the original cast of Kneehigh's production of The King of Prussia are getting back together for a special live reading of the play on Fri 23rd and Sat 24th Oct at the Jubilee Hall in Mevagissey. Tickets can be booked directly through the

The Darke Visions Festival continues to grow in size and scope! We've added loads of new events to the Events Calendar - check out what's on near you and put the dates in your diary...
Look out this week for the premiere of Gonamena, a brand new community play by local writer Simon Parker, performing at the
Sterts Theatre on various dates throughout June and July. Also premiering this week is the St Agnes' Players' production of Nick's environmental classic about the Camelford water disaster, The Man With Green Hair.

Darke Visions launched at St Merryn School
The exciting new festival of Darke Visions will be launching on 11th March 2009 with a special performance of Hell's Mouth by Cornwall Youth Theatre. The performance will take place at 7.30pm at St Merryn School in St Columb Minor, which Nick attended as a young boy.
Tickets are £7 adult, £6 concessions, £4 for students. For more information please visit

Finally - it's been a long time coming, but at long last we're hugely pleased to announce the launch of
www.nickdarke.net, a brand new website dedicated to the life and work of Cornwall's very own playwright, Nicholas Temperley Watson Darke.
It's a work in progress, and we hope to keep expanding and developing the site over the coming months, so please keep checking back for all the latest news, or sign up to our mailing list to receive regular updates.
